Thursday 13 – things about today

1. I don’t feel like getting the cool template for this meme today!

2. It’s orange day at the preschool.

3. We’re under a tornado watch until 3:45 pm.

4. It was about 72 deg. F when I took the Boy to school this morning.

5. Thursdays are supposed to be my fun day, but I think I will clean the kitchen, even though it’s the Girl’s job.

6. She didn’t do it last night and won’t be able to do it tonight.

7. DH and the Girl are going into New Orleans tonight to see Justin Timberlake in concert.

8. I think I’ll run to Hobby Lobby and get yarn to knit a sweater. I’ve been doing socks for awhile and still have some for the Boy on the needles but I want to do something else.

9. I also want to work a little on the quilt I’m making for DH’s godson. I really want to get that off the sewing table so I can make up some of my stash.

10. I’m doing this meme today so someone will comment. I’ve been wondering lately if anyone is reading this.

11. My new critique partner sent me a lot of fun stuff to read and I’m so excited!

12. I’ve kept to my WW points for the past three days and I feel good.

13. 21 years ago today, DH and I met!!!

Thursday 13 – for my birthday next monday

Thirteen Things I’d love for my birthday (in my dreams).
 1. Massage, facial, manicure and pedicure at a local day spa.

2. A multi-book contract from either Harlequin or Smooch!

3. Airfare, hotel and registration for the RWA conference in Dallas in July

4. A new, top of the line sewing machine.

5. A day with a fashion consultant.

6. The entire wardrobe she recommends.

7. One of those room make over shows to redecorate my bedroom.

8. Then they could do the craft/family room, too.

9. A new van so I wouldn’t have to worry about the sounds this one makes.

10. A well cultivated rose garden in my backyard, where I can see it from my desk chair.

11. A working shower in my bathroom (cabinets that are actually functional would be nice, too.).

12. A long, relaxing visit with my best friend (not the one I’m married to), who I haven’t seen in a few years.

13. Surprises!

Thursday Thirteen – just some thoughts

Thirteen Thoughts
1. Please go over to The Chaotic Home. My friend, Karin, is stressed because her Army husband has been reassigned to Texas from Pennsylvania. She’s only been in PA for 18 months after believing they’d be there for a long time. She needs a little encouragement. 2. I’m feeling better today. Still have a tiny, low grade fever (which is driving me crazy) but at least I don’t feel like I want to just sleep all day. 3. I’m behind, already, in my writing plan for the year, but it’s early and I have been sick, so I’m not fretting too much. 4. I’m a little worried about Noah. He got a paper from his teacher yesterday saying he was disruptive in circle time and also he had some trouble in the hearing screening. The paper said he passed, but he seemed to have some trouble understanding the test. I don’t get this as the kid is very smart, at least here at home. He plays with his trains and blocks and cars for hours at a time and builds amazing towers and remembers stuff that interests him. I guess I have to make another appointment with the doctor to have him tested again. Sigh. 5. I’m taking Juliette to the doctor this afternoon. She had a cut on her finger that she picked at a little and now it looks as though the skin on her whole finger is coming off.

6. I feel as though that fluid in my ear that the doctor said he could see is more apparent now as my own voice sounds wierd to me.

7. I’m going to the Stampin’ Up hostess club tonight. I missed last month so my friend and I are going early to try to make up what we missed.

8. I didn’t eat much yesterday because my stomach was upset.

9. We really need to move my desk and computer so I don’t have to worry about my wireless internet.

10. I have to write a workshop on plotting and brainstorming for our local RWA chapter, HeartLA.

11. I also have to write two workshops for the Cruise in July, one on Sexual Tension in Sweet Romances and one on Older Heroines.

12. I want this year to be the one in which I sell another book or two.

13. SO, I guess I should be working on the books!

Thursday Thirteen – more Gifts

Thirteen More Gifts from God to Me!
1.(106) I got the Dept. 56 ornament I ordered off Ebay. It was only 99 cents before shipping! I want to have a little Christmas village to set up every year and add to each year. Steve said we should wait until Noah is older, but I decided that if I wanted something like that I need to save my money and do it myself. I’d love to have a Christmas village, a collection of snowmen and Santas and nutcrackers and a Fontanini nativity scene we add to every year.2. (107) I got ideas for two workshops I need to present this summer at a special writers event. I will release more news about it when I can, but I’m excited about it. I can also write up essays for RWA newsletters and my website, so that’s a plus.

3. (108) My daughter loves bowling and is getting better at it and may make the varsity team.

4. (109) I finished one of Noah’s socks. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost one of my needles of that size, so sock number two may have to wait.

5. (110) I was supposed to go to my Stampin’ Up lady’s house for a private class, but it’s raining so much I get to stay home. I’ll do the class next week at the regular time.

6. (111) My daughter drove herself and a friend to the movies and then drove the friend home without an accident, even in this rain. Now, she’s at their house for dinner, so I have to wait and see how the trip home is.

7. (112) Watching some of the boys bowling the this morning reminded me a lot of watching my father bowl. A nice memory.

8. (113) I got some comments on my last blog entry that weren’t spam!

9. (114) Okay, I listen to some really geeky music, but one of the podcasts I listen to is sending out, to my podcatcher, a Firefly/Serenity fan-created song every day. Eventually, I’ll have a CD full and can burn it or put on my mp3 player. I guess it’s uber-geeky to like a German Serenity song, in German.

10. (115) My family loves me even if I am uber-geeky about Firefly/Serenity.

11. (116) With all the rain outside, I get to be inside where it’s warm and I can have hot chocolate a little later.

12. (117) I feel well enough that I probably will be able to go to Adoration tomorrow night. I haven’t been there for three weeks and I miss it.

13. (118) Even though I’m later with this TT than I expected, it’s still Thursday, so I’m not completely late.

Thursday Thirteen – about my week

Thursday, October 19th, 2006
1. I went to and joined a Hostess Club at the home of a local Stampin’ Up demonstrator and had a fabulous time. I made a decorated clipboard, a card and a decorated notepad. I’m going to do this again next month.
2. I had the weekend pretty much alone as Steve and Noah went on a campout from Friday to Sunday.
3. Juliette has a sleepover Saturday night so I was really alone.
4. It was lonely!!!!
5. My AlphaSmart seems to have developed some problems – the screen shows two black lines and nothing else.
6. Steve found one of ebay for $29.99. It doesn’t have batteries or cables or software, but I have those things, so I bought it.
7. National Novel Writing Month is coming up so I’ll need the Alpha!
8. My mother put a deposit down on an apartment in Ohio.
9. She also has an offer for her house in PA.
10. I guess she won’t be spending Thanksgiving with us.
11. My weight was up again for the fourth week in a row, so I’m diligently tracking my food this week again.
12. I’ve decided to turn my half of the rec room into a craft/sewing studio.
13. Juliette sang a duet in church on Sunday.

Thursday Thirteen – first one here!

Thirteen Things I love about LIVING IN BATON ROUGE
1. Our House – It needs some work, but it’s really great2. Flowers almost all year round!3. Hobby Lobby – didn’t have one in PA – feels like my mothership!

4. Scrapbook Stores very close by.

5. A Sonic Drive-in within a mile and a half – used to see ads for them in PA but had never been to one!

6. A quilting store right near above mentioned Sonic.

7. Just recently found a cross stitch shop! YEA!

8. Next door neighbors who actually talk to us.

9. Very active RWA chapter less than 1.5 hours drive from home.

10. Great restaurants.

11. A YMCA nearby that we joined. I love the Y.

12. Being referred to as Miss Nancy. I just love that.

13. Steve is in academia again and has a week off at Christmas PLUS his four weeks vacation! It’s great!
