Sorry I haven’t updated in a while. As you may have heard, Baton Rouge and surrounding areas have suffered the worst natural disaster since Superstorm Sandy.

My family is all safe, but my husband’s whole family have moved in as their house was under 28 inches of water. So there are a total of six adults (three of whom are a bit high maintenance) four cats (all pretty much high maintenance), a 14-year-old angsty boy, and the most easy-going boxer dog ever living at my house.

My washing machine is going non-stop, we’re severely over budget on food, tempers are getting shorter by the day, and the rooms are pretty much becoming packed to the rafters (if we actually had rafters).

Nearly every time I sit down, thinking I will write something, someone needs something, the dryer bell rings (which I normally ignore, but there is so much laundry, I can’t now) or I need to run to the store again. Ideas are running through my head (and not all are related to sledgehammer accidents), so if and when things settle to a comfortable, or at least liveable “new normal,” I will write again.

Thanks, all of you, for sticking with me.
